Elgin Road, Ballsbridge
This was a protected structure, a mid-19th-century building which had been divided up into 12 bed-sits.
The new owners approached Deaton Lysaght Architects in the late 1990s to revitalise the building and reshape it by refiguring the apartments in it. This was done, bringing the rooms back to their original sizes and proportions. At the same time, an extension was added to the back of the building to bring the number of apartments back up. So now there are 10 luxury apartments in a much bigger building at a luxury address.
